Fe415 Rebar: Yield Strength and Properties
Fe415 Rebar has a specified minimum yield strength of 415 megapascals. The numbers below are the ones design and site work reach for.
Minimum yield strength: 415 MPa
| Minimum yield strength | 415 MPa |
| Minimum tensile strength | 485 MPa |
| Elongation | at least 14.5 percent |
| Density | 7,850 kg per cubic meter |
| Elastic modulus | 200 to 210 GPa |
| Typical use | general reinforced concrete, seismic detailing |
Notes for design and site
Fe415 earned its place through ductility: the generous elongation makes it forgiving to bend on site and reliable in seismic frames where bars must yield without snapping. It has largely given way to Fe500 for economy, but many codes still favor it where plastic hinges are expected to work hard.
