25M Rebar
Column bar territory: 500 mm2 apiece means counts drop fast, and so does the appetite for lapping them.
25.2 mm diameter, 500 mm2, 3.925 kg per meter
| Nominal diameter | 25.2 mm |
| Cross section area | 500 mm2 |
| Mass per meter | 3.925 kg |
| Standard grade | 400W, 400 MPa yield |
| 6 m stock bar | about 23.6 kg |
| Bars per tonne, 6 m lengths | about 42 |
| Nearest US bar | #8 |
Notes for design and site
At 500 mm2 each, four 25M make a tidy 2000 mm2 column corner package, and vertical bars in columns and walls are where most of it goes. It also anchors heavy footing mats where a 20M layout would be wall to wall steel.
The 40 diameter rough lap has passed a meter, about 1010 mm, and lapped column verticals at this size start eating cross section and pour access, which is why mechanical couplers begin appearing on drawings around 25M. A 6 m bar is 24 kg: crews move it, but nobody carries two.
