Free tools and software for real world problems
Built by a working geoscientist and field inspector, not scraped from a formula sheet. Over 400 calculators, thirteen connected suites, and single page apps for geology, geophysics, drilling, construction and mining, with project memory and one click reports.
PDF tools
Convert, edit, organise and secure PDFs. Nothing is uploaded, it all runs in your browser, so your files never leave your device.
Browse by category
Pick a field and jump straight to the tools that fit it. New categories get added as the site grows.
Geology
Dip, hardness, grain size, faults, rock density and geologic time.
Geophysics
Seismic velocity, AVO, rock physics, impedance and reflection tools.
Construction
Rebar, concrete, slope stability, retaining walls, asphalt, cut and fill, and pile capacity.
Drilling Engineering
Mud weight, hydraulics, torque and drag, kick tolerance, casing design and directional survey math.
Conversion
Length, slope, density, pressure, flow rate and stress unit conversions.
Geotechnical
SPT corrections, bearing capacity, settlement, Atterberg limits and soil density for foundations.
PDF generators
Fill in the fields, download a clean report you can hand over.
Tool Suites
Each suite is a workbench of tools built for one workflow, with project memory that carries your inputs between them. See everything inside each suite.

3 TOOLSApps
Single page software that does a whole job: load your data, get a finished, printable result. Browse all apps.
Contour Map Generator
Paste XYZ survey points, get a colored contour map with labels, live value readout and PNG export.
Cross Section Maker
Boreholes in, correlated geological section out, with water table and vertical exaggeration.
3D Well Path Viewer
Rotate boreholes and surveyed well paths in a true 3D scene, right in the browser.
Report Studio
Every calculation you saved across the suites, assembled into one branded PDF report.
LAS to CSV Converter
Well log files become clean spreadsheets with curve names as columns and nulls blanked.
SEGY Header Inspector
Decode seismic file headers and sanity check the trace count before loading anything.
CSV Cleaner
Mixed delimiters, junk lines, and duplicates become one tidy file ready for any tool.
Groundwater Simulator
Live physics: watch a cone of depression grow around a pumping well you control.
Seismic Wave Simulator
Fire a source and watch waves reflect and refract through layered ground, live.
Phone Clinometer
Your phone as a compass clinometer: strike and dip from the sensors in your pocket.
Coordinate Converter
Latitude and longitude to UTM and back, exact on the WGS84 ellipsoid, single or batch.
Batch Runner
Run any calculator on this site over a whole pasted CSV, row by row, automatically.
LAS File Viewer
Open a LAS well log and see real tracks: gamma, resistivity on log scale, density.
SEG-Y Trace Viewer
Draw the section inside a SEG-Y file as wiggles or grayscale, IBM floats decoded.
Synthetic Seismogram Studio
Paste velocity and density logs, get reflectivity and Ricker wiggles with live frequency.
GPS Waypoint Logger
Walk the site, record stations with notes, export UTM CSV ready for contouring.
Canada Map
All thirteen provinces and territories by population, land area and density, with a map for each one.
United States Map
All fifty states and DC by population, land area and density, with satellite imagery and a map for each state.
Outcrop Photo Annotator
Scale bar, north arrow, and labels on your field photo, exported as PNG.
Study Area Map Generator
Locator panels, extent boxes and your own sites, exported as PNG, SVG or PDF.
Stereonet Plotter
Equal area net with great circles, poles, density contours, mean plane, and a rose diagram.
Everyday essentials
Quick tools for the arithmetic that comes up on any job and at home. Metric and imperial, working shown, no sign up.
Why CalculatGeek
Real software, free
Over 400 calculators, thirteen connected suites, and single page apps run entirely in your browser. Or install the site like an app: the field tools keep working with no signal at all, and your data still never leaves your device. See field mode.
A project that remembers
Press Save inputs on any suite tool and the project follows you: sessions restore, named values carry between tools, and the whole thing exports as a file.
From data to deliverable
Every tool prints a clean PDF, every calculation shares as a link that opens prefilled, tools embed on your own site, and Report Studio assembles whole projects into one document.
Built by practitioners
Made by a working geoscientist and field inspector, not scraped from a formula sheet. Every method is standard, published, and checked against worked references before it ships.
Common questions
Is everything really free?
Yes. Every calculator, suite, and app on this site is free with no account and no trial clock. The project lives in your browser, not on a server we could charge you for.
Do my files get uploaded?
No. SEG-Y seismic, LAS well logs, CSV surveys, and everything else parse locally in your browser. Confidential data stays exactly where it started.
What is a tool suite?
A set of tools built for one workflow, linked by a bar at the top of each one and sharing project memory. Enter a value once and it can follow you through the whole job.
How do I save and share my work?
Press Save inputs in the Project bar on any tool: sessions restore on your next visit, any calculation shares as a link that opens prefilled, and Report Studio turns the saved project into one PDF.
Can I use the results professionally?
The methods are standard and published, and every tool is verified against worked references. Screening results still deserve site specific verification before final design, and the printed reports say so.
